Rebekah Nolan creates supple works that contend with the exchange between the known and unknowable through a sense of play and reminiscence. Her illustrative practice spans painting, illustration, and installation, exploring exaggerated riffs of the human form, rich color palettes, and tightly knit compositions that bring intimacy to the spectrum of everyday transitions and inner dreamscape narratives.
After studying fine art, Rebekah developed a career in design and creative direction that spanned nearly two decades as she maintained a robust independent studio practice. With great delight, Rebekah has since rerouted her studio practice as her mainstay. Habitually curious and stirred by the unfamiliar, she works to foster new visual dialogue through composition, movement, and form.
