Interim encapsulates the unseen space emergent only when we take the often subconscious step from the comfort of the familiar to the mystery of the unknown.  Within this juncture lies both a restful interlude and the disquiet of unpredictable outcomes beyond our grasp.  This collection of acrylic and oil pastel paintings on wood panels, completed in mid 2023, reflect classic imagery in traditional art forms such as the reclining nude and still life studies composed of one’s own belongings.  Ideas of intimacy, perception, and ease are woven in abstractions presented through use of cropped imagery and exaggerated features and textures evoking a feeling of being safely tucked in waiting.
