Prototype  brings forth the initial results of a 2024 collaborative effort between artists Cory Robinson and Rebekah Nolan. Nolan's focus on figuration throughout her practice inspired Robinson to create a series of furnishings and art pieces that incorporate the human figure into design objects. In this initial series, Robinson practices shallow bas relief as surface design, while Nolan explores abstractions in the human form measured against spatial boundaries.  Both artists draw on the tradition of abstract figuration in object design throughout history and explore the emergent evolutions in material by way of image, form, and function.  These initial pieces indicate a balance between the monumental and fluid, restriction and ease, and isolation and partnership.
