Threshold consists of 22 acrylic and oil pastel paintings on wood panel ranging in size from 48 x 24’ to 48 x 72”.  Completed in 2022, the series reflects themes of experimentation, failure, play, and renewal.  In a departure from a well worn process of design planning, Threshold grapples with a change of pace, a deliberate disruption, for the sake of play. While some pieces are more “successful” than others, the collection as a whole is an expression of practice through trial and error.  We grow through practice - we shed skin, make a mess, and come back to the truth of ourselves in unpredictable ways, often through play.
